Van Sickle Bi-State Park – Don’t Miss this Easy Lake Tahoe Hike!

Van Sickle Bi-State Park Lake Tahoe

If you are planning a visit to Lake Tahoe we would always recommend for you to get out and enjoy the beautiful hiking options which surround the basin.  There are a multitude of Lake Tahoe hiking trails to explore!  One such hike that should not be missed, especially for those staying in the Stateline or Casino Corridor area of Lake Tahoe – is the Van Sickle Bi-State Park.  This hike, which borders the Heavenly Ski Resort area, allows for some amazing vistas of the lake.   The location of the park entrance, just behind Harrah’s Casino,  makes it very convenient to casino guests.

The trail and park sits in two states, both California and Nevada and encompasses 575 acres of majestic pines and imposing boulders.  About 20 minutes into the hike you arrive at a small waterfall, a treat for both hikers and furry companions.  Rated Easy to Moderate, adventurous hikers can opt for an extension and travel beyond the waterfall to join up with the Tahoe Rim Trail.  The hike from the trailhead to the Rim Trail is approximately 3.6 miles.   Van Sickle Bi-State Park is open to hikers, bicyclists and equestrians and offers parking and picnic facilities at the California entrance.
