There are a few iconic restaurants in South Lake Tahoe. These are the places that are on my recommended list when I have friends and family visiting. Among those is Brook’s Bar at Edgewood Golf Course.
Although the main restaurant at Edgewood is among the crème de la crème of South Tahoe cuisine, Brook’s brings a special casual experience that is unmatched in town. Bordering the beautiful golf course, this venue features both inside seating and outside seasonal dining on the vast patio. During the summer you will appreciate the sunsets over the lake from one of the prime outside tables. In the fall and winter, outside fire pits are set up to provide a beautiful outside ambiance – even if just to take a quick picture.
Brook’s is my favorite during any season – whether overlooking the beautiful green golf course or its snow covered counterpart. A favorite winter afternoon pastime is to snowshoe or cross country ski across to Nevada Beach and back from Edgewood – along the shoreline. A Chip Shot or Kahlua and Coffee is a perfect warming treat afterwards.
The food is casual yet inspired. I am a big fan of the calamari – which also includes tempura artichoke hearts and green beans. Yum! Also the Taco Truck Mahi Mahi tacos and Salmon Fish and Chips are winners. Often the folks at Brooks will announce specials via social media and their mailing lists. These specials are often so unique – you just have to give them a try, I think you will be a fan too!
