Mt.
Rose Ski Tahoe sits high atop the eastern Sierra. At Tahoe's
highest base elevation of 8,260 feet, Mt. Rose is favored with
an abundance of powder snow that falls early in the season and
stays late into the warmest spring days. For the last five years,
Mt. Rose has averaged 500 inches of snow.
Skiers and snowboarders will enjoy spectacular views of Lake Tahoe
on one side of the mountain, and the Nevada Desert on the east
side as they traverse almost 1,000 skiable acres of tree-lined
trails and open bowls and glades.
The base elevation is 8,260 feet and the summit is 9,700 feet
making for a vertical drop of 1,500 feet. Five lifts transport
skiers and boarders to 43 runs covering 1,000 skiable acres on
two sides of the mountain. The varied terrain is rated 30% beginner,
35% intermediate and 35% advanced. The longest run is 2.5 miles.
The Mt. Rose side of the mountain offers grand views of Lake Tahoe,
uncrowded runs for beginners, trails and trees for intermediates
and challenging face runs for experts.
The East Bowl is for intermediate and advanced skiers and boarders,
offering long runs, great glades, awesome views of the Washoe
Valley and some of the best powder conditions around Tahoe.
Snowboarding
at Mt. Rose
Mt. Rose offers snowboarders a lot
of cool ways to develop and polish their riding skills. Both sides
of the mountain are entirely open to snowboarders. A state-of-the-art "Scorpion" keeps
the halfpipes groomed to perfection.
Boarders can bust air at two terrain parks and a halfpipe on
the Mt. Rose side of the mountain. Riders will enjoy grand views
of Lake Tahoe, uncrowded runs for beginners, trails and trees
for intermediates and challenging face runs for experts.
The East Bowl has three terrain parks and a halfpipe. This carver's
paradise is for intermediate and advanced boarders, offering
long runs, great glades, awesome views of the Washoe Valley
