Please Note
If you are a California resident, it may be more convenient to apply for a license at the County Recorder Clerk's Office nearest to your residence and bring it with
you to Lake Tahoe. Fees and requirements vary among counties, so call in advance for information.
The person who performs your marriage ceremony will complete your Marriage License and submit it to the County Recorder Clerk's Office where it was issued to you.
The County Recorder Clerk's Office will record the marriage and will send you a certified copy of the completed Marriage License.

Please Note
The California Certificate of Confidential Marriage requires the couple to sign a statement that they been living together as husband and wife.
Some California Chapels may issue the California Certificate of Confidential Marriage, but the certificate must be used in the county of issue.
The person who performs your marriage ceremony will complete your Marriage License and submit it to the County Recorder Clerk's Office where it was issued to you.
The County Recorder Clerk's Office will record the marriage and will send you a certified copy of the completed California Certificate of Confidential Marriage.
